A couple of Wednesdays ago (January 21, 2015) we held our second Tiedemann On Wines Wine Club tasting event at McCarthy’s On the Riverwalk restaurant. We had 21 passionate wine folks in attendance and they all had a great time and tasted some good wines. Thanks to everyone for their continued support.
Our wine focus for this tasting was California wines. We featured two Glenwood Cellars white wines and some excellent Twenty Rows red wines. These wines were paired with some small plates prepared by McCarthy’s kitchen team headed by Terri Rohr. The wines and food pairing were as follows:
Butternut squash tart – paired with the Glenwood Cellars Sauvignon Blanc
Crab Imperial with red pepper – paired with the Glenwood Cellars Chardonnay
Prosciutto wrapped pears – paired with the Twenty Rows Merlot
Lamb slider – paired with the Twenty Rows Cabernet
Deconstructed apple fritter – paired with the Fritz Windisch Riesling Spatlese
Take a look at some of the great photos we took at this event:
If you missed this Wine Club event, you need to mark your calendar for the upcoming tastings at Lucchese’s Restaurant in Elkhart on February 11th and Uptown Kitchen in Granger on February 12th. We will be featuring Italian wines at both of these tastings.
Hope to see you there.
